Gimli At Home
“Far, far below the deepest delvings of the dwarves, the world is gnawed by nameless things.”
| When I first came to this place at the Vatnajökull glacier in Iceland in search for ice caves, it immediately reminded me on a home of the dwarfs. Many hidden ducts are leading into the depth of the glacier mountain disclosing access to huge subterranean labyrinths of water and ice.
How would Gimli have felt in this environment? I am quite sure he would have said: ““Hammer and tongs! I am so torn between rage and joy, that if I do not burst, it will be a marvel!”
Just beautiful.
