The Art of Photography

“There are painters who transform the sun into a yellow spot,
but there are others, who thanks to their art and intelligence, transform a yellow spot into the sun.”
| Pablo Picasso

Welcome to my blog!

Throughout my life I have felt myself inspired by music, by words, recently by photographs. What all these wonderful tools have in common is that they mirror the mystery, monumentality and multiplicity of nature. Life is inseparable from nature and so are we. Although we are part of nature we are often so separated from it.

Photography is the medium I chose to use in order to artistically express myself. I have decided to parallel those with expressions of why I created my work. While some work may be seen for its inner aesthetic beauty, others for an inherent story they tell or for the emotions they trigger, those are not necessarily the reasons I manufacture my photography for. When I am in the field, I’ll try to immerse myself into nature and I’ll try to see the world for what it is. My primary motivation is to awake these moments. When I am very present, sometimes an intention arises to express this motivation. This then is the starting point for creating a photograph that expresses my inner state, my motivation and my choices.

With this blog I have decided to air my thoughts on the why of my photography. I intent to discuss landscape photography as an art form, flavour it with philosophical thoughts, and discuss my intentions of making a specific photograph or the emotional triggers behind it. I’ll hope you enjoy and will participate on my journey.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for stopping by my website. Now meander around and I do hope you enjoy looking at my photographs as much as I enjoyed making them.
